A new name, the same commitment to you. Southern Cross Support Services and Programmed Care are now Kanda.

A person laughing

where others see complexity we see you

Our purpose is clear: We embrace the complexity of life.

A new name, the same trusted legacy

Previously known as Southern Cross Support Services (SCSS) and Programmed Care, we have been delivering support services to Australians for decades.

Southern Cross Support Services was founded on 1 July 2011 by a passionate group of individuals determined to create something different for people needing disability support services. Built on this foundation of purpose, Southern Cross Support Services has grown into one of the largest support providers in local communities across Queensland.

Programmed Care is an accredited provider offering services under various funding streams, including Transition Care Program, Department of Veterans’ Affairs Home Care and Community Nursing, Home Care Packages, Short-Term Restorative Care, and Transport Accident Commission/WorkCover.

In 2024, Southern Cross Support Services and Programmed Care came together.

We have always been committed to providing the best possible support for all. Ensuring wellbeing, comfort, and happiness remains our top priority.

A new name to reflect our commitment

As part of this exciting growth, we are introducing a new name…. we are now Kanda.

Kanda represents our ‘can do’ attitude, reflecting our proactive, helpful, and solution-focused approach. It also embraces candour, meaning openness and honesty.

Most importantly, Kanda is for everyone, celebrating diversity, inclusion, and the uniqueness of every individual we care for.

Kanda brings together expertise in disability, aged home care, veterans’ care, children, youth and family services, and community nursing to create a provider with purpose and vision.

Kanda provides a wide range of services that can be accessed through various funding streams or privately, ensuring seamless continuity of support. Our clients benefit from uninterrupted support delivered by the same trusted team, building stronger bonds and a sense of comfort.

While we are a multi-faceted national organisation known for our commitment to safety, customer service, and genuine care, we’re also deeply connected to the local communities we serve.

Our team of experts is passionate about delivering personalised support solutions shaped around what you need and how you live.

We know that no two people are the same.

That’s why we work closely with you to design support services that fit your unique needs and lifestyle.

We understand that navigating your options through disability and care services can be confusing. But you don’t have to do it alone. We will guide you every step of the way, ensuring you find the right level of support to live life the way you want.
Let us know how we can help you.
