Assistance with Daily Life (ADL)
One-to-one support for your independent living
Assistance with Daily Life (ADL) is a support category within NDIS Core Supports. It provides one-to-one help with personal tasks during day-to-day life, enabling you to live as independently as possible. These supports are put together to fit your particular needs and can be provided in a variety of environments, including your home and in your community.
How we can help
Everyday tasks can sometimes be challenging.
Our Assistance with Daily Life (ADL) services are designed to help you manage day-to-day tasks and live as independently as possible.
If you need help with personal care, household chores, or navigating your daily routine, we provide caring and professional support tailored to your particular needs.
Here are some of the things we can help you with:
- Personal care – assistance with showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Household tasks – help with cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining your living space.
- Daily routine support – guidance and assistance with managing your daily schedule and tasks, including help getting you to your appointments.
- Community access – support to help you engage with your community and participate in activities. This includes taking you to places or riding with you on public transport.
Our goal is to help you to live as independently as possible while ensuring your safety, comfort, and dignity.
What’s not covered?
The NDIS does not cover everyday living expenses that are considered general costs for everyone.
This includes:
- Food and ready-made meals – the NDIS does not fund the cost of food or pre-prepared meals, including meal delivery services. It will only cover the cost of preparation and delivery.
- Groceries – items such as food, beverages, cleaning products, household supplies, and health-related products are not funded.
- Personal items – toiletries, cosmetics, and other personal items not directly related to your disability are excluded.
- Recreational activities – costs associated with sports, hobbies, or other recreational activities are not covered.
- Beauty services – manicures, pedicures, false nail applications or removals, and nail painting or removal are not eligible for funding.
- Housing costs – rent, board, or mortgage payments are not funded by the NDIS.
- Event tickets -costs for attending events, concerts, movies, or similar activities are not covered.
